The fact is that they don't understand it themselves. They perceive being flippant and opulent and outward and showy to be subversions of the expectations of white people, and thereby a "fuck you" to white people as an identity, for expression of the inherited resentment of their enslaved forebears, but they don't realize that in the process of doing this that they are further endorsing certain of the white people they think they would be rebelling against. Not the white people who worked alongside them in the fields, the ones that they ought be somewhat in league with for cause of a shared circumstance or position in society, no: these are actually the targets of their derisive attitudes. In this performative "fuck you" towards white people as an identity, they're enabling the exact same former massas that had them in chains in the past. They pay tends of thousands of dollars for the garish designs of anything but African, or other, clothing and Jew-elry designers, but now, instead of being made to wear the steel chains and pants holey with work-worn evidence, they pay the same masters to wear gold chains and "fashionably"-"worn" pants with holes prefabricated in them.

Dreadfully satirical, really.
