Doesn't it suck to have touch screen on an ebook reader? Seems like the ability to touch the screen without it zooming, panning etc just like a physical book is one of the points of having an ebook reader, otherwise you could just use a phone or tablet. I guess it still has e-ink though so it looks like paper.

Just change the font size. Or is it that you're reading illustrated books? Mangas? Get real

you're not gonna need to zoom and pan. it's supposed to emulate a book.

The point of reading on an e-reader and not a phone/tablet is that e-readers barely emit blue light, not that it doesn't have a touchscreen.
Also, are you constatly touching your books? Is that an autism thing?

I would imagine he could be one of those people that drags their finger across the text to force a pace and prevent regressions. Or maybe he just holds it stupid.

>> No.18905920

Do anyone who really reads actually do that hand thing? I feel like if your eyes aren't adjusting to the pace properly just forget it.

on my tolino I can configure long pressing one of the paging buttons to disable/enable the touch screen.
I use this way less than I thought I'd have to.

Nah, I have a ereader without touchscreen and a smartphone. The ereader is more like a book not only because the screen looks like paper, but also because as I said you can touch and hold it anywhere on the screen. Has nothing to do with moving your finger along the text as you read or such, although that could be useful if you're showing the text to someone else and want to point at an image for example. What I'm referring to is that when using a touchscreen device you have to be very careful to keep your fingers off the screen, and in many cases that means an awkward way of handling the device, only ever touching the back or the edges, very different from how you handle a physical book where you can put your hand across half the page if that's a comfortable way to hold the book in that particular situation.

Doesn't say a fucking thing about pros and cons of touchscreen on ereaders, that's all things that touchscreen and non-touchscreen ereaders have in common, so it's irrelevant to this thread.
