I never read these books when I was the target audience, but I saw some posts talking about how good they were. Are they actually worth reading as an adult?

Eh, I loved them as a kid but personally I would say probably not. You could always just read the first one and see how you like it though, shouldn’t take much more than a couple hours.

The Giver and A Wrinkle in Time seem like they might still hold up well, if memory serves. Not as sure about the latter though.

I always thought the "Young Adult" label was some sort of corporate push to determine that kids shouldn't read books with adult themes. Ironically most YA readers are women in their mid 30s for some fucking reason
