Started waging and i waste 1 hour a day commuting.
Redpill me on audiobooks i never tried then.
Are they special files or just mp3? Do you need a special player or app for them?
Where would i pirate some for free to listen to offline?

Usually either mp3 or m4b format. M4b can contain chapter data but audio quality is the same.

Librovox recordings are fine I guess, but note that they by definition need to be out in the public domain. So any translated works will not be based on the most recent translations.

For recent books I'm sure you can find torrents out there, but I do the following:
>1) Go to https://www.audiobookcup.com/
>2.) Find the book. Sometimes it can be easier to find it via a google search like this: "Moby Dick Melville site:audiobookcup.com"
>3.) Once you have found the book, click play on the audio player
>4.) Manually type the following into the URL field/search bar 'javascript' followed by a semicolon
>5.) paste ' location.href=document.getElementsByTagName('audio')[0].src'
And the raw mp3 file will be downloaded
