Hegel went down in history as a revolutionary philosopher and possibly the most important one out of modernity.
Schopy went down in history as a meme on a chinese cartoon board.

Nietzsche is what happens when you start from Schopenhauer's philosophy but decide to embrace the Will, accepting the aimless striving knowing full well there's no meaning to be found there but thinking you can make your own.

Nope, because there's a lot more shit outside of that context you can condemn them for.
Schopy hasn't done anything out of philosophy to earn him merit in other fields.

Schopy's OK, and even though I'm ready to point to deflate his hype at any given point, I can at least acknowledge him as a more proper and interesting philosopher than Nietzsche. Liking Schopy shouldn't be a reason to shit on Hegel though, don't let the personal dramas of dead people influence how you ascribe value to their works.

I can take a course on economics or read Paul Krugman's NYTimes pieces but I would never say I understand the world now because I did so. I'd venture to say even the experts shouldn't have strong positions. Well alright then, if you're this open about it, then you shouldn't judge Hegel's work based on what some of his contemporaries thought of him. The same goes for any philosopher, or scientist, or anyone frankly. Study the field, then make your own conclusions. Philosophy should not be treated like a catalogue of dogmas, and studying it is just a process of finding the right one that suits your tastes.

OK we both know you're lying/exaggerating and you don't have an actual figure for how many philosophers were/are critical of Hegel, and if you're going to appeal to authority, then Schopy must be worse since he has had even more critics than Hegel, both in life and after death. Implies that you have read what Schopenhauer wrote about Hegel.
Implies that you have directly read.
Implies that you not only have read but also mastered the Hegelian project.
Based if true.
Of course there is always the possibility that the intent of Schopenhauer was not to engage with the Hegelian project at all but to deceive future generations into a state of blissful ignorance to avoid struggling with his ideas.

this board needs flags so bad. pretty sure all the religious fags on here are amerimutts, pajeets, bongs, spaniards, south americans. not germans. "german" idealism was just 3 individuals constantly mocked by their great contemporaries such as kant, goethe, schiller, wieland, von kleist, a. von humboldt, schopenhauer, herbart, etc
