My mother (who never reads) picked up my copy of The Pocket Thich Nhat Hanh I got at a meditation group and she has read it maybe 3 or 4 times by now. Subtly, I noticed her demeanor changed to be more peaceful and conscientious and eventually she told me how much she loved that little book. She chewed through the meaningless Oprah-tier self-help all her life and finally arrived at something that spoke to her.
