Why do these two overrated Aussie shitposter hipsters live rent-free in the minds of every /lit/ poster 24/7?

They're both young Aussie authors who got publishing contracts recently and have modest online followings. And they make /lit/ seethe

Left: https://www.instagram.com/r.c.waldun/

Right: https://www.instagram.com/johnthatguyyouknow/

Honestly, good on them both. they're better than 99% of the psueds here

>> No.18832632

I feel like baldie always tries to piggyback on Waldun's fame, he isn't well known on his own

Why do you think this? Has anyone even mentioned them before?

Waldun literally has an order of magnitude more Instagram followers than whoever the guy on the right is

I wasn't saying they're both instagram people, dummy. just pointing out they're both authors and where to get more info on em if anon wants.

I wonder if OP is the guy on the right. I've never heard about either of them before, which even if they are popular isn't surprising since their billions upon billions of people on the planet and the concept of celebrity doesn't really exist anymore, but the huge disparity in followers on those two pages does make it look like the second guy is sort of tagging along, or trying to hitch his ride to the bigger name.

Are there any samples of their writing online? Short stories or anything? It's always nice to read something fresh.

What do people say about them here? What's the point of contention?

John Card is most definitely OP. In every Waldun thread, you can see this faggot going, "Look at me! Look at me! I've self published a book, just like Waldun. You guys like me too, right?" It's pathetic

Here is John in the third reply, what a hanger on. You can also do a warosu search for that image, it's found only in Waldun threads. Previously, he always shilled in Gardner threads

L'Academie is his second book. We liked his first book, the Learned Disguise. Additionally, he's just so kawaii and pudgy and fuckable

Looking at his instagram I assumed it was something along those lines. The whole friend simulator/romance simulator aspect internet obsessions. Same sort of thing that makes podcasts and social media accounts popular across the board, the inherent loneliness of the modern age.

there were three days in 2020 when his writing was dismissed in detail as utterly peak pseudery. case closed.
