I'm sorry but I cannot respect this. It would be one thing if you all you did was prioritized looks over function and grouped together your books based on spine look instead of author. But to actually go out and buy an expensive copy of a book you already have just to "complete" the look? The shelf looks great aesthetically so credit for that but you can go fuck yourself.

This is why shelves/bookcases in France will always look nicer to me, because most essays, novels, etc are standardised to the "livre de poche" format, and also are all white and sober, just fancier overall and also leaves a lot more mystery around books as big descriptions/blurbs aren't frequent at the back. Books in Anglo Saxon countries tend to be too colourful, too showy and would even make the best classic novels or philosophy essays look like the appalling contemporary chick lit you get in loads of bookshops. Unity on shelves is not only aesthetically satisfying but also helpful in terms of organisation.

Yes, but, from my experience, anywhere is a good place to start with Saramago.
His main problem is that you get tired of his style after some books. His plots aren't repetitive by any means, but his verbosity starts to annoy you after you've seen it too much.
I read 6 of his books and they were all pretty good, but I have no intention of reading a 7th before 2030.
My main rec: never read two books by Saramago in a row.

I started buying manga at Chapters and just got what I could in those years.
Stuff like Assassination Classroom and anything rocom related I ended getting rid of because I realized I really didn't like it.
I stopped going to chapters so I didn't keep up with things either.
If I had started when you started we would probably overlap a lot. Like if LB Camp was on shelves when I was buying I definitely would have picked that up.
It's a pain in the ass trying to collect all of an English released series after it stops printing too.

These are all the books I took with me when I moved. I‘d say read ratio is 9/10 — without the collected works ofc. I read a lot online, digitally and have a lot of my more basic lit back at home, so that’s why there are so many significant works (Aristotle, for example, who I only had very cheap editions of—same goes for Shakespeare and generally HS lit like Schiller, Fontane, Twain) are missing here.

Both. It's mainly tips on how to drive in a faster and safer manner without killing yourself like a retarded cunt. It is a pretty useful little guidebook even if you don't own a Porsche. I often lend it to friends and new driver types so that they can stop driving like a Chinese guy in a liveleak video.
