What is the best (preferably renaissance era) book which CLEARLY details the PRACTICAL TECHNIQUE of spiritual alchemy? I've read bits and bobs of different texts and I've read Evola and I know all the general principles of dissolution and recalcification etc etc, but I still don't know what I'm actually meant to do and alchemists just seem to get off on symbolism and analogy. Is there any book which will tell me clearly how to achieve spiritual gold?

Look into Kundalini meditation, the tree of life, the staff of Hermes.

There are centres in the body which correspond to the various metals, and the dissolution is the movement between these "metals". The Indians called them chakras. Re-read the material with this in mind and you will understand.

Something better on alchemy? It’s fucking pseudoscience, what’s wrong with you. Get a fucking grip mate. I know you think you’re special because you’re tapping into esoteric knowledge, but the only thing special about you is how much pity and sympathy you garner from those who know you. You can become the Prince of false knowledge and be a real laughing stock, or you can join your friends in the real world and reckon with your own intellectual mediocrity.

Where is all this bitterness coming from, anon? Why does my interest in alchemy make you angry?

>> No.18800198

chinese alchemy is all about how God creates everything with symbolism. you aren't actually supposed to drink lead. you're supposed to realize some esoteric shit based on the symbolism of lead and water. it's symbolism, it's like a language where the words are natural phenomena. it's cool.

I think the problem with alchemy is that it risks becoming focused on the path rather than the goal.I like this>>18800203
because it has both elements but reiterates several times that the actual doing of the method is very simple. the alchemy is more like a description of what that leads to, which in my opinion is quite interesting. it is unfortunate that Cleary spends so much time trashing Jung rather than just saying cool shit in the footnotes, but it's ok. So this is basically a handbook on northern taoist and ch'an buddhist method and metaphysics from the 1700s
