Who's bottom right?

Also I want to read Becket, is '3 novels' (Everyman) a good way to?

>> No.18788561

>>18788249
I think that’s Thomas Bernhard.

Everyman 3 Novels is pretty good. It doesn’t place gaps between the paragraphs in Malone Dies and Unnamable though. Not a big issue but a personal niggle with me because I find the gaps more indicate full stops in the thought processes of the narrator(s) and sometimes times Malone does write stuff that contains a couple paragraphs before a break. Or at least that’s how the Grove edition is formatted.

t. format fag.

Sebald is much more 'milder' than those.

He is same as Pessoa's Disquiet

Hmm I haven't read Pessoa yet. Anyway you should check out some poets like Gottfried Benn, Georg Trakl (my favourite) and Dino Campana.

No he's not. He's far less self-absorbed, and I mean that more as a statement of fact than a criticism of Pessoa.

I am fimilar with Trakl but I don't understand his narrative of his poems. I don't know German so I mainly read him for some gloomy imagery. Thanks for suggestions.

You should checkout Al-Ma'ari. He and Leopardi are like distant brothers.

>>18788753
Yeah I get you, he is really different in that regard. If Pessoa is different Sebald is outward. But he and Pessoa touche a specific brand of melancholy. I don't know how to express it.
