I’m viewing them in terms of being together on a bookshelf. Their aesthetic is more tranquil together.
Meanwhile a western bookshelf in terms of covers is full of inconsistent cover aesthetics that look weird together.
I was watching some random video of a Chinese and his book shelf looked more nicer and consistent.

I don't know about China but Japan I think is very hit or miss with their covers. Some beautiful stuff, some horrendous missread shit. I also don't like when the covers are full to the brim with Kanji, and I worship kanji.
