I think it can be innate (or at least caused so early in development in such an indeterministic manner as to be the same for practical purposes). I have a theory about this. Imagine if even basic physical features were innately wired in as sexually attractive. Looking from personal experience, I think this is bullshit, at least to some degree. The best way I could put it is that it isn't like chasing the dragon, dropping one thing to pick up another, but more like there is an ever expanding zone of lewdness.
