Tell me why I can't write serious literature inside genre fiction and japanese anime/game settings.

You can.

Because you're relying on tropes
Serious literature reflect your life not your fantasy

You can and you should.

Agree with these

You can. Lost Odyssey has some phenomenal short stories as secondary content you can find in the game.
But it isn't anything to do with the actual retarded anime or vidya crap going on. Its just good sets of prose injected into a videogame menu for the sake of making the videogame seem less like shitty anime.

>genre fiction
It is possible, but the problem lies in what words will you use since genre fiction readers aren't the best readers.
>japanese anime/game settings.
Please do.
But it will have to have a huge budget to make, so it better be a best-seller and you yourself have to produce the anime/videogame.
