Start by eating a massive bowl of stinky beans and rotten vegetables. Somehow, these ingredients should be bright orange. Then go outside and drop your pants and take a big diarrhea shit in the middle of the street. You'll be well on your way in no time.

Read the Gita, there are a number of commentaries if you're interested in that as well

>> No.18734735

Gita & then basically just whatever translation of the Upanishads you can get a hold of. the part that sucks is that unless you know sanskrit then most hindus say its "impossible" to really read the vedas.

The annual cow dung flinging festival. Allegedly, the goddess of prosperity Lakshmi dwells in cow dung, so spreading cow dung everywhere spreads prosperity. Your wife is obligated to smear cow dung all in the inside of your house in order to bless it, as well.

read jamison's rgveda (pdf) here and there in chunks until you get bored, then read chunks of olivelle's upanishads (better dont start with that first upanishad in the book cos its long n weird for your beginner level), then winthrop's bhagavad gita till the end (its short) while you wonder at the complexity of sanskrt language, then whatever puranas or gitas or cool religio texts that catch your attention.

At least cow dung actually has a function (fertilizing fields, thus actually providing food). Christianity bypasses this entirely and just has you eat God himself as a cannibalistic ritual of eating his flesh and drinking his blood. Talk about creepy!

>> No.18735035

>>18734989

You are what you eat, and the whole point of Christianity is to become godlike.

wrong, you should read the gita as part of the mahabharata, the first part of it leads up to the gita and puts it in context. you should probably start with the ramayana anyway

>> No.18735254

>>18734394
the Gita is a pretty good tl;dr
skip the vedas, they're a meme.
there are some upanishads that are interesting to read but i forget which.

Upanishads.
I would recommend Easwaran's translation.
