There are plenty of contemporary philosophers. And you talk as if things like that are happening all the time. They happen once, and that is basically it. The one who somewhat really changed the history of philosophy (or one could say who started a big change in it) was Simone de Beauvoir. Also, if you look for world literature, I'm absolutely sure that you can find a lot of decent authors. I'm not even Swedish but Selma Lagerlöf isn't bad, that Gosta Berling Saga seemed pretty good. There are other women on Brazil too who are ok.

Women are the primary authors and readers of contemporary society. I would bet that publishing houses too are primarily women. There are plenty of women authors who have written excellent things. Obviously you can't go too far back in time for this as it just wouldn't have been done to have women writing books back then.
