Many of his gripes with popular culture and modern media techniques are coming from a similar place as conservative revolutionaries, but I think he conflates these things with fascism because the national socialists monopolized these things in Germany quickly after taking power. They are effective methods for controlling public mood and opinion whether they are utilized by fascists or contemporary woke progressives.
I think his negativity comes from a basic Prussian sensibility as well, which he would never admit to. His essay on the frivolity of hobbies sounds almost like a militaristic screed against consumerism.

A friend of mine bought me a fat volume of Adorno's essays on music. In the first one I tried to read, he was complaining about "false rhythm," referring to a jazz beat where you subdivide eight beats as groups of three, three and two beats ONE-two-three ONE-two-three ONE-two, ONE-two-three ONE-two-three ONE-two, etc. He claimed that this pattern, which is ubiquitous in Jazz, rock, funk, etc., is "false" because it's somehow pretending to be an even triplet -- where you would divide a stretch of time taking two, four or eight beats into three equal parts. He was condemning this rhythm on moral grounds as I recall, or something like that. Anyway, I found the discussion so patently genius I couldn't continue out of sheer awe.
