What're some of your autistic /lit/ related habits?
Oftentimes I physically nod my head after reading something I agree with or comprehend, as if to show the author that I understand what he's saying.

I sometimes laugh (even in public) while reading Philosophy. As if, I'm reading some absurd joke.

Coming to this board.

Probably 20 times in an hour of reading I flip to the front or back cover of the book to look at it for a second; the last page to check how much left I have, around 10 times.

Ever since I was little I've had really intrusive daydreams that take me over in my waking hours. Sometimes when I'm very involved in a book I start physically reacting to it as if I'm present and the world around me disappears.

I have to make sure my desk is clean, the floor is tidy, and that there are no dishes in my sink before I can write.

I always celebrate like this guy when I read something based. Like when Houellebecq talks about feminism in Elementary Particles.

Whenever a character in a novel is faced with a difficult situation I stop to see if I could negotiate that situation in an honourable way. I try to be very fair and not to flatter myself. If I can't get past the situation I find it hard to continue.

I got stuck for a long time in Blood Meridian in the bit where Brown asks the guy to cut the barrels off the beautiful shotgun, and he refuses, and Brown threatens him and takes over his workshop. I wouldn't want him to do it either but I would be just as scared as the guy in the book.

I tried hard to find some way I could talk him out of it, but they all failed, because I knew Brown wasn't getting talked out of anything. Every scenario I tried ended up with me either getting killed or acting in a LOW, COWARDLY way.

I think in the end I imagined leaving and then sneaking back and shooting him in the back. I might be up to that. I don't count that as dishonourable. He cut the barrels off that beautiful shotgun. Screw him.

I'll sometimes reread a paragraph 4-5 times even though I understood it the first time.

Well I started reading before I could speak due to autism. Right now my habit is explaining everything I've read so far in the book to tell a joke I just laughed at. Usually it's to my mom or dad since only they have the patience to listen to me since they've been used to my rambling my whole life.
