I think we should write low brow commercial lit for income honestly. The way I see it, writing any lit will be better for what you really want to write than any non-writing work considering what non-writing work looks like in our day and age and writers of the past had that convenience which we don’t. You used to be able to quickly earn a living from short stories, novellas, poems, etc.

Reduce living costs and shill your writings on /lit/.
I get 1800 a month from welfare and pay 500 a month in rent for two properties that I go back and forth from whenever I need a change.
When I was a wageslave life was hell, but with NEETbux its become very cozy. Right now I'm pouring all my time and energy into buying up various means of production so I can support myself once the government teat dries up.
The biggest problem with modern life is that there's this expectation that you need to jump through all these hoops to 'make it', You know, go to university, live in the city, own a car, have a gf, etc. and it all keeps you locked on an expensive . I tried living like that and I was miserable, and even though I was making good money it was all gone by the end of the month.
Now I own a sailboat and a couple of solar panels, going to buy some lobster nets in a couple of days when I cash my dole. Already know where the best oyster beds are. I built an ecommerce website to sell writings and translations through and I'm slowly growing it, bit by bit.
Make a list of all of your expenses, and then focus on slashing them as much as possible. Call this your Y axis. Once you've done that, work on building up different income streams and passive investments. Call this the X axis. Once you get to the point that Y=X you're free from wageduggery. Once you reach the point that Y>X you can start building your financial empire or planning for retirement.
Also, please buy my book.
