Assume that you'll never be anything more than mediocre, and more than likely a bit below that. If you still want to write, do so. If not, consider that it's not an overflowing creative passion that's moving you, but a craving for something, an emptiness that needs to be filled. This can also inspire great work, but consider that there are probably other and more effective ways of filling that hole.
