What exactly did Plato mean by the Light/Sun outside of his Cave allegory? Was it meant to be the virtues of justice, wisdom, and temperance? Could it perhaps have been a detachment from senseless traditions (shadows) in which we find comfort but not Truth? Or was he leaving "Truth" up for discovery or to interpretation? Discuss

Literally broadening your horizons.

no, it's the idea of the Good, which guides and supports everything else

If that is the case wouldn't individuals within the cave mistake shadows for new horizons, when in reality, they are still stuck in their chains?

This

Good makes all other ideas intelligible. Specifically, it determines whether a thing is “better” or “worse” than it’s current state. It is the standard by which all things are judged.

Similarly, sight determines whether a thing “is” is “isn’t” like another thing. Goodness and the realm of ideas are a higher category than you’re used to.

So in Plato's words, virtue (courage, beauty, wisdom, and their usage to assist others), and justice within the individual and society regardless of the lies necessary to achieve such a goal?
