[ERROR] No.18608953 [Reply] [Original]

I enjoy books about monsters, creatures, and man killing animals.

I work a soul rushing nightshift job and reading helps pass the time. What are the best ones? Does anyone else like these too?

I want to get a good Manga, and wanted to start with it and Berserk

I know there's a sizable community of people who say it's new age trash, but I'm not sure.
I know Berserk is loved, and looks really interesting, both from an artistic and story standpoint, but I'm not sure with Chainsaw Man.
The Normies seem to have found it and caused a host of problems

So that's why the normies got hooked to it.
I'm still interested

It's good, but don't expect a conventionally good manga like berserk. It's more like a very entertaining, but a trashy b movie that somehow ends up having consistent themes and a few great characters. It's entertaining and dumb, but it also has a soul.

>Chainsaw Man
Both pretty good, I'd also recommend the original Devilman and Death Note as some other entertaining and well received manga.
Once you're ready for some actually /lit/ manga then read:
>Voynich Hotel
>Onani Master Kurosawa
>Welcome to the NHK
>Waga Na wa Nero
The Nero manga you could really read at any time though, it's inspired by Roman history and not very Japanese except for in the direction you read panels.

20th century boys is a classic, though might not include everything that OP asks for. You wanted a good manga so I think it is okay. The Yotsuba manga is comfy. Angel Densetsu is great even if the art is so and so.

It's about a girl who slowly realizes her friends are cultists, and at the end it turns out the cultists' insane beliefs are all true and they did something to her that makes her transform into a monster. By the time she realizes what they did to her she's completely lost her humanity and can never return to her old life. The monster itself is completely original and disgusting, not visually, but what it eats and why it eats.

Agents say they want "genre bending" stories, but when you give them an actual story that switches genres halfway through they all complain that it isn't enough of one particular genre. Fucking morons.

The monster doesn't eat poo. It eats fóstur. She finds out her friends have been secretly feeding her fóstur to prevent her transformations from happening. But once she tells them to fuck off and stops eating it she gets sick and begins transforming again. Once transformed she blacks out and doesn't remember what she did, but all she does is eat. The story is a mystery and about her slowly discovering the cultist's objectives behind why they're feeding her these things.

And the fact that she's a monster isn't even the real twist.
