There’s a large one in Providence, RI every year. Lovecraft scholars, readings of his works and Lovecraft-adjacent authors. Merch and a gaming room with Lovecraft games being played. Checked it out in 2019. It was interesting and filled with the kind of people you’d suspect.

Derleth is a hack who realized his only chance of success was acting as PR man for an underappreciated writer far out of his league. I'm glad that now Lovecraft is public domain Derleth can slide into irrelevancy where he belongs, but it's unfortunate his views on the works seem to pervade pop culture.
