Yeah, you should just wear a cockring. And some sneakers. People love that.

graphic novels with messages this deep are literature

this is a fact and is not up for debate

>> No.1860130

Watchmen is a comic. There's a board for comics. That board has a lot more people who would want to discuss a comic than this board. (:

>> No.1860132

too sage for you

Why would a naked body symbolize a disconnection with humanity? If he was bearing all, in a humanoid shape?

>lit discusses novels
>watchmen is a graphic NOVEL
>therefore watchmen is lit

I dislike deconstructions in general. People always make too much fuss about them and they inherently for people who understand the tropes and archetypes of what is being deconstructed whereas then the entire work becomes one long series of inside jokes.

Also, the Watchman movie was mediocre at best, and I have no desire to look at the comics.

literature in general is an "inside joke" for people who understand the language and the culture it originates from. sage

Don't think you've understood what's going on here. I'm trying to help you by redirecting you to a place where there's people who will appreciate your thread. There's no need to get all defensive about your comics.

Have you seen what this thread has become in all of 15 minutes? If you'd posted it in /co/ you could be having an insightful discussion by now.
Putting it nice and simple for you, whether or not this is a right place for it, /co/ is a better place for it.

I really don't think it's any comment on the quality of Watchmen to face the objective fact that it was created in the comic book/graphic novel medium, which is separate from the media discussed here (poetry, novels, non-fiction works, novellas, some essays, etc.) in every way besides using language and being bound in the same fashion in the physical manifestation of such. I don't understand why it's so much to assert that this thread would be more appropriate on a forum about comics, ESPECIALLY since this is a deconstruction of all comic books and has far less significance to people who spend their days focusing on traditional forms of literature.

GOOD DAY SIR

you guys understand that him being blue was supposed to symbolize his depression over his loss of humanity and inability connect with anyone right

I know, you but already knew that they are illogical.

One of your many great comics that will forever be remembered by everyone on /lit/.

Mostly because of the watermark rather than the content.

You aren't living up to your comics very well

You are using way too much stoner logic. I thought you'd be against such thing.

You need to follow your comics better, like this one.

"graphic novels", no matter how deep, are comics. "Sequential Art" to use Scott McCloud's phrase. This board is about books that have words only, perhaps with single illustrated scenes that don't form a "movie-like" whole in the game way a comic does. Some children's books are the gray area.

yeah I replied
