Why? I've been thinking about getting one.
>can't easily undo stuff, thus avoiding obsessive editing while writing
>can still type like one does on a computer keyboard
>pages can be scanned and converted with little effort
What's not to like?

This doesn't seem like a positive to me. Having the ability to edit any aspect of the work is a great benefit, as long as you don't go too far with it, obsessing for hours over one sentence or one word.
The answer to one extreme (obsessive editing) is not another extreme. (a complete lack of the ability to edit while writing) Both are harmful. Instead, you should just teach yourself to not get so carried away with the editing. No need to buy an entire writing device to solve a problem which can be solved through simple willpower.

My study has no electronic devices of any kind, several dictionaries, and a big beautiful typewriter. My productivity and peace of mind are dramatically increased.
