The /lit/ book club in Hamburg has met — and it was great. We read pic related stories and essays by Kleist, and we’re thinking about reading either Hemingway, Dostoyevski or Novalis for the next time.

If you’re local (that is have the time to get to Hamburg every month or so) and interested (I received some more emails voicing interest originally than there were people who actually came/joined our group) just reply to this thread.

We're currently three people but originally eight to nine messaged me in some fashion.
I'm probably though going to announce the next meet location and book a week prior on here so people who want to just come by and not join per se formally can do that as well. I would though advise to just join and make an account because that's easier.

We read Kleist because he was suggested by some members but having read him as a previous author should not be indicative of the books we're going to read in the future. We just thought he'd be neutral enough in that no one really knows anything about him to make a good first book/author for everyone to get into.

Berlin isn't that far from Hamburg though.
I think we could do a meet in Berlin or Frankfurt / have a Germany/ >>18587671 Europe wide meetup in the future.
But right now we're just looking for people to meet in Hamburg.
I myself don't study in Hamburg, and most people that got back to me weren't from Hamburg/or studied there either. It's just kind of a good central meeting spot for northern Germany, compared to meeting in a place like Berlin where everyone besides for Berliners have to drive really far to get to.

You can hide your number, as far as I know--and even your name somewhere in the options. I think you can also make an account without a number, but I'm not sure about that one.
