PhD here. I like you struggled because of that, so I went to youtube and found the audiobook.
Reading this work of art with its DENSE prose was one of the best things I've experienced in recent time. The moment I dropped my ego and just went ahead without needing to re-read every passage at least three times the started playing in my head like a long series.
