Have you published a book?
How'd it go?

I didn't make much off it 8 years ago, but it helped me take a huge step forward in life. The subject also came true, as the dating world is more and more toxic, much more than ever before.

2nd book is about to be released... super excited... I have my own paper chopper and a perfect binding machine coming...

How are your writing pursuits coming?

I've sold about 10 copies. Finally got a few ratings, sitting at 3 5 stars and nothing else.

Despite having an entire soundtrack made for it, I think the way it's written (like a play) maybe put off many potential customers. I didn't see it worth spending more than about $75 on ads, of which were not too effective. The 2nd book will be in regular prose and have a more professional soundtrack and more like a light novel with around 7 or so art pieces for integral moments of the plot. I think it will be quite the banger. Heh.

I do not regret it at all, and I will write until I run out of ideas. Writing gives meaning to my life, and every day I don't spend writing is one that pains me.

Does self publishing count?

Not books but I've had 7 magazine articles published in fairly well circulated magazines, and two chapters in two separate legal treatises.
Didn't get paid but I wasn't looking for money - I just like to write and I like the ego boost of having accomplished that much as an amateur hobby
tldr: only do it for yourself

You'd have to be on crack to think that a masculine straight white male in Canada is ever going to get a traditional book publishing deal.
>Not going to happen.
>Entire publishing industry is extremely woke.
Just go look at Penguin or Random House or whatever other big book publisher Twitter in Canada... completely and totally pozzed.

Haha...
Seriously though, after going to the last writer's fest in Vancouver, what was it, 2018 or 2017 I can't remember... either way... it may as well have been a queer black feminist meeting. Un-fucking-real how the straight white man has been pushed out of culture generation soooo hard and soooo fast.
>Zero masculine icons in Canada anymore
