The /lang/ threads were also great and focused on specific works in foreign languages and resources.

There was a sticky which just listed various Platonic dialogues and commentaries that were discussed in the threads. It wasn't some vague philosophy thread but about specific works of Plato. I don't know how you could get more specific than that.
