Cannibal Metaphysics by Eduardo Viveiros de Castro
The Chrysanthemum and the Sword by Ruth Benedict is an anthropological work, albeit not on primitive societies, but on the Japanese.

These are all well written and nice to read. There are other classics, but I didn't enjoy them as much.

Sometimes they are, sometimes not. Clastres' work is rightfully criticized for some of its content, but it doesn't take from the quality of the writing and originality of observations.
