Reading on the computer is too distracting for me. I have to buy physical books and turn off my computer when I'm reading them.

Yes but on the way to library you can walk and get in some exercise, fresh air, meet people, and generally just get out of the house. Usually if you talk to the librarian they'll give you information about whether they have the book, might order them, or nearby libraries that have it. If you are too awkward to talk to the person, then some county library systems has a combined search system here in the UK. I wouldn't use libgen just because reading is the best way I find to get away from a screen for long periods of time where you have nothing else to. A physical book is essential for that, and also I think the general feel of it is more pleasing. I recognise the argument about comprehensiveness, but the library is also a pleasing way to find books you never would have read otherwise.

If they make so much money why should I give up my wageslave bucks? No matter your answer I’ll still use the library and whatever they don’t have I’ll pirate

I'm pretty sure you can request a book from the library and they'll buy it. At least where I am.

There's no reason a digital book should cost as much as a physical one, so the publishing houses can suffer for their greed

You can't find an ebook that costs as much as a physical book? There's plenty of $20+ ebooks on Amazon, anon

Yeah, and the corresponding physical book invariably costs more than that.

this, reading on the phone is also a distraction, reading on a device doesn't match reading a physical book.
