I’m trying to look for literature relating to this topic. The wording doesn’t have to be the same, but I believe that at least 70% of humans are unconscious drones/animals who perform tasks and show emotion only to appear human to others. They do not have an inner monologue, and might show that they MIGHT be conscious, although that isn’t the case. I’ve had these thoughts from teen-hood, but now this idea has surfaced and is more popular than ever I think. There might be a possibility that we are, in fact, in a simulation. Though I hope not. Also discuss how would one determine consciousness? Share your thoughts.

The ultimate proof to show whether you are higher than the 'unconscious drones' around you is if you can convincingly create a portrait of the human psyche in a work of fiction. If you can't then you're likely just fooling yourself. The best authors can replicate the entire breadth of culture around them. If you haven't reached that level yet you're still an NPC.

Having this thought is proof you’re an NPC

Nah that isn't going to cut it. Sorry to say you're still an NPC.

Retard and who cares

Not being retarded or nod or cringe is acted through what you do in entirety, there’s no need to think about it at all, it’s just wasting time. Also just in terms of obvious similarities between you and everyone else and also same genes and language and shit, the idea that they’re that different to the point of being “robots” is useless and uninformed

Thinking people are robotic is a symptom of some mental illnesses I think

Also there’s no such thing as an inner monologue as a deep property of a person or mind, you’re just pretending / larping
