Is this that Ambedkar neo-buddhism stuff? This an example of religion being entirely downstream of one's politics, which by the way, is exactly the same thing many tradzooms do on this board but in the opposite political direction, drudging up religious attitudes which are no longer widely extant in their culture and wielding them as masks against the people they resent. Buddhism was extinct in India proper so this is entirely new age.
