What does /lit/ think of Conrad's works other than Heart of Darkness?

All of them are good. He's the kind of writer who never quite wrote a bad book, just some better than others. Nostromo is my favorite. Reminder that if you get filtered by Heart of Darkness you don't belong in this board.

I just read Heart of Darkness and I enjoyed it a lot, so I got Lord Jim and Typhoon and other stories, I also think F. Scott Fitzgerald described Nostromo as the greatest book he's ever read so I'd like to check that one at some point too

The Secret Agent really toes the line though

He sucks
>I cannot abide Conrad’s souvenir-shop style, bottled ships and shell necklaces of romanticist clichés.

He's my favorite author but Victory is not great

Your critique is two fucking words and you need to use Nabokov's critique to back yourself up? How much of an NPC are you?

My critique is Nabokov's critique. The right critique for this hack.

How come I can just intuitively tell when a negative quote is from Nabokov?

>> No.18441131

>>18441086
Nabokov quotes tend to have that 'wet diaper' kind of aura around them

Because he's not a good critic, he's just a poopy-pants, but pseuds think that whatever he says about a book is the 'smoking gun.'

Because he sounds like a resentful spinster.
