Excluding all bad ones, I can think of Sexual perversion/depravity would be 120 Days of Sodom and Justine
and I'm currently reading the 10 Chris Carter thrillers/det novels regarding Robert Hunter. Started with 8., did the prequel, than the first and second, I'll do 2 more til monday, they have two annoying things about them, but the gore is real nice. Actually enjoyable, and the plots are thick.

i disagree with the blood meridians. its pretty surreal throughout and doesnt feel reaslistic even if the events are possible. the girl next door on the otherhand, is so incredibly disturbing that if i was slightly less desensitized to torture i might have fainted. and the event is based on a real life story which is even worse.
