It doesn't mention what kind of screen the e-reader has, and the study with people reading on an ipad vs paper, and the one with people reading a PDF on a computer screen both involved normal LED or OLED screens; I know for sure that comprehension is a lot lower when reading off of a normal screen but I'd be interested to hear if there was any difference between paper vs e-ink readers, since e-ink readers are specifically designed to mimic the natural look of printed text on normal paper

Are you a technologically illiterate boomer?
On b-ok there is a "send to kindle" button right underneath every book. And even if you don't use that, you just download a book and then share the book straight to your ereader through calibre, by mail, don't even to plug in your device or anything. How is any of the above options complicated?

The study is flawed in that it did not take into account what the readers were used to reading on. If all those people reading on ereaders where using ereaders for the first time they are going to be distracted by the novelty of it and they will have to think about how to do things like turn pages/scroll, their attention is divided between the device and the story. For the study to actually have merit it needs to compare readers who have similar experience levels on both sides and similar reading comprehension levels. I know of no study which has yet to show proper methodology, they are all skewed towards one side or the other either by design or necessity.

Yes for Kobo. You can use Calibre and some extensions for covers and metadata. You can also use that app to convert .epub to .kepub for more accurate pages numbers, otherwise if you have a smaller ereader and larger font you could have several "pages" be the same page number. The standard .epub sounds better imo.

I've also heard that the more books you store on the device, the slower it gets but I don't know if that's the case with newer versions or not (maybe another anon can confirm?)
