It’s not that they don’t want you to read it, it’s that they don’t want you to pilpul your way into interpreting it however you want. The Catholic Church has been infiltrated, sure, but it took them a lot longer to accept man on man anal (the molestation stuff is Jewish media slander, the rate is not significantly higher than the general population) because you didn’t have random church leaders deciding one day that when Jesus said “man shall not live by bread alone” what he meant was we should invade Iraq for Israel so Christ would return and suck all the baby boomers into space so they wouldn’t have to die.
