It's only really like that if you assume 4chan's boards are all singular, independent entities with no variation of opinion within their userbases. This is obviously untrue, but at the same time easy to think because everyone posts anonymously (with some unfortunate exceptions). The big joke on /v/ is that /v/ hates video games because they shit all over not just every new one to come out, but older classics whose appreciation must be the result of "nostalgia goggles." However, it's not that everyone actually hates these games, but more that when you see some people saying they don't like your favourite game, you immediately assume that /v/ is some big grouchy entity who hates everything you do. Which again, is bullshit since everyone has their individual tastes, and lots of people probably like what you like.

Really, if you can't make this distinction, an anonymous message board is not the place for you. You'll just get your feelings hurt.

Let me explain, as you seem to not have understood my post. I understand the technique that South Park uses as a show: it is inherently cynical. I am questioning the approach to this issue of cynicism, that is all.
