Now that the dust has settled, what is his best book?

Reality:

>Pope Francis wants the Church to be more insulated against the evils of the world and focus in on itself and grow stronger.

Distortion:

>AMAGAAAD POPE FRANCE IS LITERALLY AVOWING PAGANISM!!! HERETIC!!!!

Should we really give up ethics to pagans though? I agree that christian ethics doesn't suppose being conbatative necessarily but I would imagine christian ethics should be advanced ontologically so we may benefit from them.

I think Pope Francis is saying that Christians should focus more on bringing a positive vision of the faith before people and actually living out a Christlike life rather than devoting themselves to fruitless debates and arguments.

I dunno, I'm not a Christcuck, I just have some level of respect for Pope Francis and don't enjoy seeing people distort his actual views.

Turn the Other Cheek is still the most cowardly thing ever espoused, though.

I am an atheist but I like all recent popes. I think our politics should be structured like the christians. The cardinal - pope system is vastly superior to democracy.

Yes but the whole purpose of christianity is it's a working metaphysics of ethics, salvation etc. I don't see pr as a proper main goal without reference to what a higher truth signifies.

Turn the other cheek is insanely powerful. It divorces you from immediate, material responses. It's a bit overromanticized to the point it's a crutch for some people but it's proper in that a negative response is a nothing response but a positive response is necessarily better. It's a powerful theological viewpoint particularly millenia ago but it has a strong ontological force. Again currently it means nothing as a sociological interpretation but the ontological relationship is how you transcend.

Nah, monarchism had a lot of benefits over democracy but it failed because it had too many holes.

If the Catholic Church worked as a democracy it would fall within a decade. With this system it has endured 20 centuries. Only memocrazy fundamentalists will deny the efficacy of a hierarchical structure.
