As far as I know, Guenon and Evola are good to "get started" with Hinduism and Buddhism, I thought about buying Calasso's Ardor and Borges' introduction to Buddhism as well.
I know 0 about gnostics.

Giordano Bruno and the Hermetic Tradition by Yates is a classic.
Guenon and Evola are their own niche. Don't overrate their influence just because they get meme'd on here.
