>books with arguments in favour of Anti-intellectualism

which one i should read?

sometimes i think books are a bad influence in general, if you are already a thinking person
too much reason can destroy the capacity for action

Not necessarily in favour of anti-intellectualism (more against bad intellectualism) but Bouvard and Pecuchet is a book about how reading badly can make you a retard. Don Quixote can be interpreted in the same vein.

We are in an area of anti-intellectualism right now. People get educated to fulfill very specialized, niche jobs. The public debate is being fought by people who read wikipedia articles on Karl Marx or Ayn Rand and make that the basis of their arguments. Intellectualism is dead, educate yourself for your own sake and for a hopefully better future
