There a cult resides and wants to use the child protags gifted writing abilities to influence reality in their favor. Kid refuses and the cult that JUST got introduced jobs. It's stupid. If you spend long enough time on /lit/ (honestly even one or two years is enough) you'll see that any "trending" topic (aka anything that gets multiple constant threads made for it) that isn't genuinely common knowledge (i.e. Plato, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche) is forced memeing. It's not organic, it's not spontaneous, it's not authentic, and it's often actually shilling by authors themselves (in cases like this). Once you've recognized a few for what they are, you'll never fall for any of the others. People who think this shit is organic are not /lit/ regulars, or are part of the spam effort itself. As for Gardner, apparently the books are fine, not awful, not amazing. I prefer him to the aggressive Guenon spam of 2019 and the absolute shitfest that was the Horia Belcea shilling of 2020 to say the least. At least Gardner isn't obnoxious.
