In Adorno's twisted mind jazzmen's fundamental sin is that (at least back then) they weren't Jewish. Look at his books about classical composers: Wagner - bad, because he didn't like Jews, Berg - good, because his teacher Schoenberg was Jewish, Mahler - good because he was Jewish.
