How come muses aren't a thing anymore these days for writers? And why are they all historically cute girls?

>> No.18320855

Because every woman has already been tainted by some other male. There are no females virgins anymore.
There are also no cucks like Yeats or Prešeren who exalt already taken women because men have wised up I guess.

1) Desacralization of sex - after the Sexual Revolution, sex has become seen as casual, lovers as interchangeable, love as fickle. This means that hopeless romantics like Dante, Petrarch or Yeats would be seen as psychotic weirdos and potential serial killers

2) most women just aren't worthy of being glorified anymore. They're all sluts, materialistic and/or non-feminine.

Most if not all art is partly inspired by women to some degree. But the concept of a "muse" was just a way for artists to trick women into hanging out with them.

Great literature is the product of a deep, abiding dissatisfaction with life and the human condition. The writer seeks to explain their alienation from truth, contentedness, and the world around them.

From this we can conclude that the muses of tomorrow are available for $9.99 on OnlyFans

No they weren't, because they actually met them, were real people, and were often having an affair with them.

Simps for waifus are worse than Pygmalion, because they aren't classical but are modern and pathetic.

>most women just aren't worthy of being glorified anymore. They're all sluts, materialistic and/or non-feminine.

This, a muse is a woman who is as full in her feminity as the man should be in his masculinity. She's able to bring out the best in him without being a mere floozy or doormat and keep up with him intellectually and emotionally.

They are fucking rare.

Yeah I can see that, but I think that's only part of it. There's a reason why Miyazaki's characters develop 10 times the life in a single movie that many anime characters develop in 10 seasons.

One of the most common examples that I really love is from Spirited Away where Chihiro puts her shoes on. She taps the ground with them to get her foot seated right, because she's only 10 and the shoes are slightly bigger so she can grow into them.

Miyazaki understands more than how people move, he understands why they move.

They weren't real people. The muses were explicitly NOT HUMAN in Hellenic myth. The only artists who claimed a 3dpd was his muse was Dante... and he never actually interacted with her beyond seeing her at a festival once.

Not true because separation is needed for the muse meme. If you actually get to know the person then they lose their unearthly perfection.

>> No.18325313

Not strictly a muse but the girl I've had the strongest feelings for in my life has remained in my mind as a kind of strong archetype. When I read anything with a female character that has any similarities to her personality, it's like she takes on her essence and becomes vivid and animated beyond what other fictional characters feel like, like a figure in a dream with tangible pathos.

Such a beautiful, fanciful creature,
From the dark frame of her hair,
To the pointed blades of shoulders bare,
Gleam of pale sun on her arms,
Hugging her frame, so nobody harms
Her flat stomach, and below,
Smooth delta, and dimples bestow
Sexiness, allure, perfection attaining,
Propped up on her legs like a painting.
