>try to explain story ideas to someone for feedback
>"wow that'd make for a great movie deal!"
>no word on anything related to writing
Why the fuck are people like this?

While it is stupid, it is simply because visual media has replaced print media in terms of influencing what people think of etc.

Who reads nowadays. It's all just loud noises and bright colors for normies. Epileptics gonna seizure, autists will be fried alive, schizos mistake the screen for reality.

was it written?

maybe they were saying that it was the kind of story that would work better as a movie.

>Ask for feedback on a composition I'm working on (to try and involve my friend)
>Get useless, misplaced feedback, because why wouldn't I?
>"Oh yeah, nah brilliant, I'll think about that thanks!!"
I think I have to stop asking as a formality. It's my own fault

Who pitches ideas for a book? Obviously any idea is good, but if you're able to write it well is a different story.

Not everyone likes books. If you want people around you I suggest you stop being such a bitch

They probably don't have much to say for better or worse, and are trying to make conversation and complement you. Chill out.

what?
so you just verbally explained an idea to them and now you want feedback on how it's written?

I was talking to them and explicitly saying "so I'm writing this thing and etc etc etc," so nowhere was I implying any interest in film to begin. And even then, this response will come up if I'm asked about my writing in the first place. The response is always on film, never on the given medium I'm trying to work with.

so you didn't let them read anything....
and you want advice on the writing....

you know what, let's take a step back, what kind of feedback were you looking for.

>story ideas
nigga, you're the one not putting any work in. you think people give a fuck you have a good 'idea,' saying it would make a good movie is the nicest thing someone could say, it's literally saying "I can visualize the shit you are telling me."
what are you expecting, the give you the end to the novel you haven't even bothered to write?
I;m sure you can tell, but you 'I've got an idea' faggots really irritate me. it's like expecting everyone to listen just because you have an 'opinion'

Very few people care about books in general and only a small portion of those people read fiction. Literature simply hasn't been a relevant medium for fiction in almost a century. At this point fiction books are just dumping grounds for losers who lacked the connections needed to make it in TV or video games, the only forms of fiction that matter anymore.
