Oh, wait, FOR SOME REASON they only translate the most popular books of most popular authors. Nothing personal, just a shameful business of flooding most the market.

It's fine. P&V have their issues but it's not like it will ruin the experience. I read their translation for this the first time I read it and I loved the book.
Worrying about a translation leads to worse reading experiences than most translations themselves

Another marketing victim. Dostoevsky could write just fine, and no literate person can mistake the nervousness of some scenes for the lack of language skills. Read a decent translation made by someone who does not ignore the style altogether.
