I'm interested in Jung but I'm especially interested in knowing how to interpret my dreams.
Is it necessary to follow this chart if my main goal is to understand myself better through dream analysis?

No, you follow that chart to understand the writings of Jung.

What should I read after Man and His Symbols to focus specifically on dreams then?

Start reading as much mythology and history as you can

Any specific recommendations? I'm reading the Iliad right now.

No, just consume a variety of myths and you'll start to notice reoccurring symbols and themes. Reading a little Joseph Campbell also can't hurt.

Mythological motifs really only pop up when you're dealing with collective archetypes. When you're dealing with personal issues your dreams will probably lack those collective motifs.

what are the black books about?

In the case of personal issues, the symbols are more idiosyncratic right? The tricky thing is identifying their meaning once you've noticed recurring motifs

YES YES. I am trying to start Jung as well. I found some book by some Jewish lady who apparently had written a tom on Jung. It is meant to be a broad intro to Jung and is titled "The Psychology of C.G Jung,". Is this a good place to begin? Pic related is the path I intend to follow, can anyone whose read Jung comment on its efficacy? I am mainly interested in Jung's mysticism and its relation to the mind. Do I need the more scientific side for the mystical side?
