I am always conflicted over this. I do feel bad for the Palestinians, the Uyghurs, etc. If it was happening to any other populace, I would be much more passionate in my arguments against these crimes. Hell, I still think Palestine needs to be recognized as an independent country and the Jewish settlers need to return to Israel.

But at the same time, these groups are Muslims. And from the way Muslims treat non-Muslims in all of the countries where they become a majority, the way Islamist terror attacks ravage communities of minorities trying to live in peace, the steady stream of Muslim attacks on non-Muslims in Europe... I feel like an idiot for having sympathy for them. If it was the other way around and I was the minority, undoubtedly Muslims would hurt and kill me. Be honest: wouldn't Saudi Arabia put all its religious minorities in camps if it could get away with it, including Shias (much less non-Muslims)? And no, Muslims are not a monolithic group, but at the same time this pattern of oppression has played out everywhere from France to Indonesia, everywhere Muslims are a majority.

So I vacillate between having sympathy for these repressed Muslim populations, reminding myself that they have no love for me, and then feeling guilty for both having sympathy and feeling like I shouldn't. And that's the end of it.

No. Literally religiously forced to not do that. However, Islam is in an incredibly weak state (spiritually, militarily and monetarily), and obviously from the Hamas situation, they will literally go against Islamic war ethics just to have a chance at winning (which they won't).
Those pattern of oppression is a pretty common one in almost all beliefs. When your believers are weak, it tends to breed zealotry. This had happened even in the classical times of course, like the completely unprecedented treatment of Zoroastrians, which goes against the religious rulings, with the people donning their religion like a political faction.
However, I personally would never dismiss the fact that Islam has historically been very kind to minority religion, or at least in juxtaposition with other and previous civilization. If Islam were in this state back when they were conquering the world, India would be a majority Muslim country and there would be no Jews or Christians in Jerusalem.
So, hold your empathy and have pity instead. They are where they need to be.

Read about Muslim Iberia and the Ottoman Empire, they basically allowed you to just do your thing if you paid a tax. There was a wave of fundamentalism in Islam starting in the 80s which you're extending down to the entire history of Islam. Yes, today religious minorities in the Middle East are suffering, but did you ask yourself how those minorities still exist in the first place? If Muslims were so intolerant there wouldn't be any non-Muslim minorities left after 1400 years. And yet, by the turn of the 20th century the Middle East was still about 20-25% non-Muslim. Shocking! Compare this to Europe: after a similar amount of time there was precisely 0% non-Christians left in Europe.

Jews especially thrived in Muslim lands compared to Europe, and would often take refuge from European Christian terror in Muslim lands. Jewish refugees from Iberia fled to the Ottoman empire for a reason.

All of this goes completely against the narrative promoted in these kinds of spaces but is completely obvious to a student of history.

But there is also no such thing as "Muslim slave trade" per se, it's just another attempt to malign Islam by Western historians, "Muslim slave trade" is implying that Islam brought about this slave trade but actually slavery was alive and well in the Mediterranean region and Islam just left this existing slavetrading network alone. The religion of the people changed to Islam but the slavery already existed and continued to exist.
