For those who have fully read In Search of Lost Time, did you find it meaningful and worth while. Or at least entertaining through all 6 volumes. It’s a decent time commitment and there are other books to be read.

I haven’t read the whole thing (yet) but it’s great. I have the Everyman’s edition and the translation is fantastic. The language is beautiful. It can be hard to get in the zone with Proust but once you do it’s a very compelling read. The poking fun at the insecurities of snobs is good fun

I would like to say this: I dislike when people say Proust is the greatest writer ever.

It’s a very dumb thing to call any one man the greatest writer ever. There are too many different kinds of writing and too much subjectivity in it to make such a declaration. By any objective measure he was a great writer, but there is still a large amount of subjectivity in preference towards the many writers who have been objectively great

Writing well doesn't save it from the fact that he was a self-absorbed twit with nothing to say. Fuck Proust. Fuck everyone who made me think it was worth reading. Fuck me for actually doing it.
