Thoughts?
I found the first 300 pages a slog, but either the writing became more legible or I got used to nabbys wordplay in the latter half and began to enjoy it. Overall disgusting subject matter with some moments where he really shines as a writer. I don't think I'll swear him off yet, and try Pnin down the road

This is his best novel, probably. Not as much of a page turner as Lolita though.

I read it a couple years ago.
It's very much a book of opposites for me, the protagonist is an intelligent man, but full of vices and depravity. His and Ada's love is true, yet hurtful and immoral.
I was disgusted by certain events and yet others drew me in.
In a way I envy their early 20th century aristocratic life, but it's also a hellhole they created for themselves.

I absolutely adore Nabokov's prose however, he writes with incredibly wit and zest.
