Why is the Bible the best-seller of the Western world? The vast majority of people are dumb theists, this is nothing new.

Is that supposed to be an insult? I unironically believe that the edgy atheist in the picture is intellectually superior to anyone who spends inordinate amounts of time masturbating to the Bible and other mythological works. Even someone who reads Richard Dawkins is much closer to the truth than the people who still hold in high esteem the superstitions of the ancient Hebrews (while at the same time belittling all other superstitions as heresy or paganism).

But those fedora atheists who call themselves intellectuals are not very intelligent, often having a 105-110 IQ, which is decent but nothing to brag about. They don’t know anything about Aristotle or Aquinas or have grappled with serious philosophical questions. Even atheist philosophers take Aquinas seriously and respect him. This is why Dawkins is a complete midwit in anything outside his field of biology.

This is just an interesting book, in some places it is very funny to read.
It was funny for me to read how Begemot and Koroviev mocked all these cultural workers like Rimsky in Moscow. It looks like Foreigners cannot appreciate it ...For me, it's just a novel about Moscow. (Which is the Third Rome and the Second Jerusalem.)
PS I'm not really a fan of M&M. A good book, but nothing more.

It was cringe. Dropped it halfway through. The way he writes his scenes is as if your watching an exaggerated cartoon. It’s corny and wack.

Bulgakov wasn't that religious himself, he's talking about things like corruption and hypocrisy more than about atheism

It's multi-layered. You see, first there's the master, right? But then, there's also Margarita.

One of those books, claimed to have a deep meaning and being "not for ordinary people, thus to whomst enlightened".
Read it in two languages, still find it pretty shitty, as it has no hidden sense, everything is very understandable, even if you didnt read the bible. No unpredictable plot twists, no hidden sense, no sense, boring story, boring scenery, boring language used.

I disagree. The book is highly open to interpretation and rereading even though it's very approachable on the surface.
>not for ordinary people, thus to whomst enlightened
Nobody ever says this. Maybe retards on /lit/ want to believe it but it's a popular novel in its own country, not some kind of secret text for the enlightened.

Whoever said that must be fucking retarded.

And you must be retarded too. What do you even mean by boring scenery? It takes place in Russia, what the fuck did you expect?

Filtered. All that stuff about the master and his manuscript? That sequence of the black magic demonstration in the theatre? The reflecting on Pontius Pilate? The Walpurgisnacht ball? The satire of state censorship and control of the arts? The intertextuality with Faust and Brothers Karamazov? Yeah, all of that was just about atheism somehow.

The only parts that are maybe "lmao atheism" is the opening dialogue and the sequence where Woland pontificates at the ball. Please read deeper.

If your main criticism of a book is reductionism, it's safe to say you're completely retarded and your opinion should be ignored.

Literally anything ever written can be given the same treatment and sound awful.
